Grace Lutheran Church

Welcome!

We are glad that you found our congregation’s website, and delighted that you have chosen to spend a few moments of your time to explore the rich tapestry that is Grace Lutheran.

Our congregation is average in size, but constantly growing in our Lord’s Grace – and we warmly invite you to come worship with us and to receive the blessings of God.

We are a people called together by God.  A people, who gather around His rich treasures of Grace, namely – His Holy Word and His Sacraments of Baptism and the Lord’s Supper.

As any family, you will discover that we are not a perfect people, this is why we gather around His gifts.  It is through these gifts, that we richly receive God’s abundant mercy, grace, and forgiveness in Christ Jesus, our Lord.  This is the beginning of who we are as God’s people.

We are also a Christ-centered congregation of believers, for we firmly trust and teach that Jesus is the answer to all our problems – now and forever.

As a congregation, we seek to bless our children, our youth, and each other in this Christ-centeredness, with a Sunday School, weekly Confirmation Classes, a children’s sermon hosted by a puppet named “Leggo Lamb,” monthly youth events, congregational suppers and fund raisers, as well as an “Intergenerational” Sunday Morning Bible Study, and various Mid-Week extended studies of God’s Word.

You will come to see, that we stand firmly upon the Word of God, for Jesus said: “Man does not live on bread alone, but by every Word that proceeds from the mouth of God.”  (Matthew 4:4).   Therefore, it is by His Word that we are happy to say – that we are growing in faith, in love, and in service.  Our Lord also promises: “I will build My Church, and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.”  (Matthew 16:18).  Here, too, we have been blessed.  We are, indeed, growing in numbers and into a family united by the love of God and love for one another.

In the worship service, we rejoice that God comes to serve us.  He comes to serve us via His forgiveness, His Word, a Godly Sermon, the Lord’s Supper, and the occasional baptism.  Therefore, because God does most of the work in our worship, as Lutherans, we call our service – the “Divine Service.”

However, we in turn serve our Lord and God with our hymns, our praise, our prayers, and our public confession of the Christian Faith.  Our Sunday worship is accompanied by a piano, and/or organ; and for those special worship days – we enjoy the blessings of a Choir, Sunday School presentations, as well as a mix of other musical instruments, trios, and quartets.

Following the service we meet and greet one another with coffee, juice, or other assorted treats in what we affectionately call our “Solid Grounds Coffee Fellowship.”  And you, and all our visitors and guests are always welcome to stay.

We invite you to share with us the hope and peace that the Gospel of Jesus Christ alone can bring.

In Christ, Rev. Edmund Mielke – Pastor
